There are several poker styles in the game of Texas Holdem, or ANY type of poker.    These styles are not all black and white, but are the generally recognized ones that most players utilize to some extent.
It is important not only to recognize these various playing styles, but also, to know what style is YOURS!

The different styles can be categorized as: Action, Passive, Reckless, Novice, Tight, or Solid.    There is also one styles where a player touts him/herself as the 'table pro', but that player could be ANY of the above mentioned 'styles'.

This player will raise a lot of pots.    When they have the opportunity to act, count on them to Call or Raise.    He WILL often show down GOOD cards, but not always!

Reckless Player:
This player will raise TOO often, usually with no logic to his play.    He will ofter overbet the pot, and will show weak hands.

Passive Player:
This player will generally call, EVEN wien hthey have premium hands.    They are generally unwilling to go to battle.

Novice Player:
This player is either new to the game, or just playing No Limit, having played a lot of Limit Texas Holdem.    They will generally underbet OR over bet post, and will call a lot of hands that they should not!

Tight Player:
This player will sit on chips until they have a premium hand.    When they play, you better have the goods!
